Candidate for Name Callsign
1st Area Director Michael S. Samulenas KB1XP

Hello 3905CCN'ers! Many of you know me as "Sammy", KB1XP and I've worked most of you on the nets. I was originally licensed in 1983 as a novice (KA1MWK) passing my 5 WPM CW test at the age of 23. I was the young pup as a member of the Southington Amateur Radio club in Connecticut. Next came my General (N1DVU) at 13WPM and quickly onto my Advanced ticket. I passed my Extra written exam but missed my 20WPM CW text by one word! I was so tired of listening to code at that speed, I parked my ticket at the advanced level and I’m good with that. I’m currently the 1st Area Alternate Director and now running for the 1st Area Director’s position. I edit & produce the 3905CCN’s monthly board meeting videos, other club member’s videos and also the creator of the club’s YouTube channel. You can find it at https://www.youtube.com/@3905CenturyClub. Check it out sometime! I’m running for the Director’s position because I’d like to contribute a bit more to the club and have some ideas that can benefit the 3905CCN. I enjoy my time on the nets with you all, and appreciate the tight-knit group of this club where everyone has each other’s back and are welcoming of new members. I hope first area members vote for me as I’d like to serve the club in any way I can. Thanks for listening and c u all on the nets! TNX ES VB 73s Sammy, KB1XP

Candidate for Name Callsign
Vice President Kirk D. Frazier AA1NA

Hi Everyone!

Thank you very much for the opportunity to serve as your club Vice President the past two years! Please vote for me to continue another two years.

The 3905 Century Club continues to be the premier WAS, DX and Awards net thanks to the members that participate in our nets. And we have a great team leading it.

My goals for the next two years include increased net participation and continue to reduce the number of “No Nets” that occur. Also, I’d like to ramp up Eyeball planning so that we can have several Eyeball hosts and locations announced in advance.

Representing the club members has been very rewarding. I’d be grateful for your vote to continue!

Very Best 73 from MS!

Anarchy, or Order?

Should the Board of Directors vote within the dictates of the Bylaws, or are they free to treat the Bylaws as "guidelines" and then take any action they want to in spite of the Bylaws?

If you are a law and order type, please vote for me, otherwise vote for my opponent.

Greetings fellow 3905 hams. I have been asked to do a Bio to introduce myself, so here we go.  I'm not a professional writer as you can tell.

Amateur Radio history:

I was a Novice class operator twice, first in 1957 while in high school. 5wpm was tough enough then so didn't go further. Then after the service (Army, Germany and Vietnam) and after college I became a "retread" Novice in 1972 while living in Weatherford OK. Both times I used my Heathkit AT-1 Transmitter which I still have.

Then marriage, major career changes, and life etc, and lo and behold after retirement I wanted to do it again, so I did. I was visiting family in New Mexico (2017 or 2018) and there were not enough VE's to test me so I drove 200 miles to El Paso to test there, and passed Tech. I became General then Amateur Extra while living in my family cabin in Colorado.

Business history:

I was 10 years with EG&G ORTEC, a fortune 500 company making state of the art high speed electronics and radiation detectors for research facilities around the world. I helped design a detector used on the IMP-J satellite and developed an Alpha chamber that slipped into existing equipment racks (NIM Bin). I was promoted to Product manager and traveled to most of the free world countries in Europe at the time on multiple occasions. I then changed to another division and helped form a sale company merging the sales forces of several EG&G companies into one. I bored of this however as I really got tired of constantly traveling and of meetings. I left EG&G and started my own computer services and internet company which I ran until I retired (sold out mostly).

Goal:

I put my name in the hat mostly as it seemed the club needed some help, so I volunteered essentially. My focus will be to stay the course, encourage friendly dialog, encourage growth and reduce the burdens of meetings. I don't think I can do all this of course, but that will be my focus during any Board Meetings or issues that might arise.
